A lot of people are so ignorant they don't even realize that their tax refund is money they already over paid and they are just getting it back. They think its just a gift from Uncle Sam. I had this young kid as a helper one time on a job site and he was talking about something he was going to buy with his tax money. Some how that led into a conversation about taxes he asked me "How can the government afford to give everybody all this money every year?" I said you do realize that the money you are getting back is money that you already over paid to the government through out the year right? He says what money I haven't sent them any money?.......but that is exactly how uncle Sam wants his sheep! After working with me for a few weeks he was no longer as much of a sheep....LOL

Maybe in the not-too-far-distant future... we'll have a 'real' Libertarian or Patriot party. But to get there... we need to stomp the commies now. Right now.

I feel like a flat tax across the board would be the simplest fairest way. Every one pay the same percentage across the board no matter how much money you make, or how many kids you have. I will use 10% as an example......You make $1.00 per year you pay $.10 you make $100,000.00 per year you pay $10,000.00., but they will never do that they know if it were that simple (and it could be) they wouldn't be able to bamboozle all the sheep they do.

It's not bamboozling... it's punishing success. They call this kind of taxation "Regressive" because it hurts the poor.

NO... it does not. It makes everyone responsible for paying based on their success. If you make nothing, you give little.

If you are a gazillionaire... you pay a lot. But you keep a lot more than you pay.

The reason they won't do a flat tax is that leftists have to tell the poor that they are punishing the successful... for exploiting the poor. Which is BS.

I realize there has to be a tax and Im willing to pay. just dont want a system based on politically chosen winners and losers.

Consumption tax has its reasons to dislike it but it seems that it impacts all equally regardless of station in life.

So you have five kids does this mean you pay for them. A sliding rate scale based on income is fair. The problem is they spend too effin much and they don't mind burdening the taxpayer. How about just spending less?

If the Gov pays a million to do anything...the reality is it could likely be done for 3-400 thousand. Someone has to cover those kickbacks and campaign donations.

Nik, good Lord, Stop. No, not out of the question, but why do you automatically assume the worst ? The whole process is a leap of faith and there are a lot of variables (both good and bad). I tend to think it's going to be a pretty good day for conservatives tomorrow, but we're all going to have to wait and see. You did (or are going to) vote, right ? If you succumb to anxiety and stay home, you've simply given one more vote to the opposition. Please vote, if you haven't already.

The Government provides a secure bubble of infrastructure for commerce. The average person does not take or use much of that. They are happy with less. Others however are more ambitious and are willing to work harder for a bit more. So they are benefiting from that bubble a bit more. They are using more of the services the Gov provides. To pay a bit more does not seem unreasonable. I think most would agree. The problem is the Govt does not understand what is fair and always goes to far.
