I'm probably looking for a unicorn but does anyone make a variable power scope with just a dot reticle - nothing else? I'm thinking along the lines of an aimpoint but with high magnification (10+). Don't know why but I would love to have one for hunting.

I don't know of any with magnification that high.

The Swarovski Z8i 0.75-6X with the D-I reticle has just a red dot, no cross hairs or stadia lines.

The Meopta ZD 1-6X has a reticle that is mostly a red dot

Shit I just immediately moved on to using the reticle and didn't bother but yeah I guess I do suck big ol titties - sorry for dutch-ovening your forum now and then still working my way from hunting to shooting... could mount a scope at 45 degrees and still hit anything in lower MI and taking off those caps was always the first step to losing the caps in the leaves I must have developed an aversion

I have a Leupold vxiii 6.5-20x44 with a super fine crosshair a dot. They call it the "target dot". It's not exactly what you're looking for, but the cross is almost non existent to me.
