DPG Action Update 5-19-25

Reading between the lines and sentences, let me emphasize on a few key points and what's behind the business curtain as well as boths sides here. The term "bashing" has been incorrectly been used against me. For one, bashing a company means stating false claims, business practices or false statements about a product.. If you can find anything I said that was false, I welcome that notice and have no problem correcting as im not ego driven.
What folks don't see is the discussions I had 8+ months prior to even coming public about the situation with Zermatt. Look at my past videos, for 3+ years I have publicly and freely promoted the product over others. Build thousands of Rim-X rifles, left a good career at the Railroad and made a mistake building a company off someone else's product. With the issues not addressed for over 8 months, I was left with over $110K of rifle components unable to move because of this issue, nearly putting me out of buisness. So excuse me if I have a lil pepp in my walk and tone in my voice, I think its justified . As months went by with PR responses and total neglect, my clients became more impatient and had to make the moral decision. I have Zero to gain having addressed this publicly, infact it has costed my shop thousands. BUT, I had made the choice to become the voice for my clients. Because of my doing, a forced resolution and acknowledgement was made within weeks. Im glad to see folks get a resolution, even though till this day, 24 actions sit on my shelf with the same issue and no further support. Let this be a reminder of which shops decided to burry their head in thier profits and ignore the problem. I continue to receive emails and calls complaining how their gunsmith neglected this issue and till now, how do you think I acquired photos from other people with this issue???, actions are still being sold with this defect until inventory is moved out

Now with Vudoo, I've always gave credit to the main designer of the V22 action, Mike Bush. What I have stated in my videos, again, was the defect of whom ever built the rifles and the dozens of emails I still get to this day with testimony of the poor customer service and poor shooting rifles folks received from Vudoo. Nothing about the action! Come to find out Vudoo just outsourced everything and recent events is a testimony of how the company ran under its mismanagement and confirmation of the many who have/had issues. Said this to Pauls face with the dozens of complaint emails I printed out for him at SHOT 2023. Ive done nothing but perfect flaws on everyone elses products and of course im no exclusion to this, its all how its handled in the end and how you want to reflect on your clients.

Unlike others, I do not take in client provided parts because of the mass experience in fixing gun plumb rifles just to get a baseline to build off of. Finding filed down construction nails as trigger pins, ball point pen springs in lieu of proper factory tensioners, JB weld in places id never even thought was possible, Seized factory barrels on the action, pure neglect of maintenance, these are just some off top of my head. I cant even imagine the lead times If I allowed gunsmithing ontop of my work load currently

As for prefits, I could have easily entered that game, especially since I craft my own barrels and I'm not subject to barrel manufacture leadtimes any longer. I would actually make a killing doing so. I simply dont do it because I can confidently say I have no problem out performing any prefit out there and I choose to have my business name reflect my craftsmanship for those willing to wait. Not chase profit. Also I see to much tolerance variance despite the advertised ability to prefit. In today's time, folks expect instant gratification and product soon as they pay. I remember a time I waited 3 years for Bob Marvel to hand fit my custom 1911 before it was nighthawk customs.

Now this form was a recommendation and request of my clients to address the issues stated above. I have unfortunately came across the relentless defenders that do not have the time, experience and investment I do. Even admins who have zero buisness providing their biased opinions, even though they are not gunsmiths and clearly have an investment promoting/ defending and selling their favorite vendors products.

This form needs change, and it starts with the individuals who are emotionally driven and aimed to cause conflict, not resolution or help to others. If your vision is like mine and you want to seek positive change and rebuke companies taking advantage of thier consumers, sacrificing quality but still selling at high prices then your welcome to follow.

This project of mine was evoked as a solution I see needed for my clients. I did this in less than 3 weeks if you where following. From idea, draft, cad modeling and 3D prints over a year ago to now a near perfected production. 99% of the folks I talk to is what motivates me, that last 1% are the trolls that hang around to see my demise. That puts me into overdrive.
For the record, I've never taken issue with Kenny's comments in the past, real or alleged, and I know the intent behind known remarks. I've also known @littlepod for a while, and he's always been a good Dude. Both are passionate and protective, and both have had my back.

Those wondering why JD post and how I know him, I have had the opportunity to build a few rifles of his. He's to humble to talk about his shooting career but I will. He's actually one of the top PRS shooters in the nation and has been for the few years I got to build for him. He literally has the choice to pick whom ever for his rifles, I'm simply the monkey building them for him. Unlike some who claim to shoot competition, he has provided valuable feedback and insight to my builds. The fella genuinely cares for this sport and others to enjoy it and he's got the skillset to make a difference here. I'm just honored to be able to build for folk like him and Shane Ward

Ehh, I can see how some viewed your videos as negative towards Vudoo/Zermatt. Maybe you didn’t mean for it to come across that way, but I was surprised they would even continue to sell you actions as there was some misinformation posted (Vudoo mag video comes to mind) that threw some serious shade.

Glad to see things are going well. You’ve moved up from using a modified dremel for your extractor cuts from just a few years ago.

My stance on Vudoo mag still is the same. The main issues are the injection molds being worn out and quality control and managment of replacing those molds, tolerances are a wide band. What I said, "Made at a Rubbermaid recycling center." Just to be clear. This will be the last I'll discuss about previous problems as im looking forward to what I think will be a whole revamp in quality in the community.

Just to be clear, many have had issues with their mags like I explained correct? Or their near forgotten metal mag they was suppose to release wouldn't have been a thought or patented.
The design works well and I have working V22 mags. So its not the mag itself, emphasis the mold. Taking measurements you can see the tolerances issues from a mag bought 1 day ago and one month ago.

What folks should be focusing on is why are you excepting this quality after paying 1500+ when yall hold me to a higher standard or fail to check these tolerances for yourself. My videos I put out, if your offended, is it because you seek justification of why You’ve spent 5K on your rifle build even when its having issues? Yet state Im bashing for sharing the issue many are having but also provide a solution??? Baffling....
Paul at one point did state they will no longer sell me V22 actions unless I remove those videos. Funny because I was told a year prior when those videos where out that it didn't effect them. Despite your opinion, it has helped many gain resolution with thier tools. And In the interest of my clients that have Vudoo builds at the time, I removed the videos (which is the last time I ever let a company restrict my freedom of speech as a consumer myself)

I have built ALOT of rifles, rarely will you hear the good side of things, but if one slips out of my shop, that's the one yall judge me and my capabilities.

The FTF issues as I shown with just the sample of 6 out of the 18 rifles I had during that video series was due to headspacing issues, which are bandaid by slapping in a 22 or 24lb spring. To this date, I always carry a set of field 22lr headspace gauges, and during a match folks that have issues that come to me, 90% of the time those rifles where locking down on a 0.051 headspace gauge
