all loads were 46 grains and COAL was to barely fit in the magazine
needless to say I am happy with the starting loads.

That was my first .260 Rem as well, a DPMS 24" LR-260. My current one is a custom build from GAP with a 22 Bartlein.

You definitely have a shooter if those are your first groups. Try the 140gr Barnes Match Burners too.

What's your brass look like?

I have a dpms lr260 that is still going through breakin about 60 rounds down the tube managed a.29 3 shot group but shoots under an inch if I do my part with federal premium 120 grain nosler ballistic tips. It's very hard to shoot well with the dpms crap triggers Good job on your groups keep it up.

Is this for DPMS only?

I have an LMT MWS w/ 20" SS .260 barrel (1/9 twist) that shoots sub-MOA 5-shot groups.

120gr A-Max
37.1gr Varget
Remington #9 1/2 LR primers
Mixed once-fired .308 brass sized down.

Velocity is about 2840fps.

Problem here is that the gun won't cycle the gun completely. It will extract and eject, but won't pick up the next round or lock the bolt back on last round. Next time out, I'll try 37.5 gr.

I'll take a 1.5 MOA gun that is reliable over a sub-MOA jam-o-matic.

I will agree with you THEBELLY on the reliable weapon so far I have had no problem with my dpms other than the trigger it seems to like the federal ammo as well I'm going to work on getting my press set up again soon so I can really play... Sounds like you need to ply with powder a little bit
