I am looking to change the barrel on my DPMS ap4.Can you use an armalite barrel? I think the threads on the barrel nut are different.Are the extensions the same?Is evertything the same Except the barrel nut?

not sure if its true, but what i took from it was if its a DPMS barrel, use a DPMS bolt/BCG. if its armalite made (buying a noveske), use armalite bolt/BCG. if you having the extension put on, send the bolt. i think they interchange to a point, but man i just had a bbl made instead. they used my bolt to eventually get it right. ill see if i can ... why dont you look on arf.com and see if you can find the link that holds the key to the 308 armalite / DPMS platform sames/differences

Your question beat me to my suggestion.
I have a BHW barrel and I believe it is a stellar buy, mine is sub MOA when I do my part. I had it out to 1025 yds on Friday and it did not disappoint.
I certianly think you could count them as another option.

i just got my mega MA-10 set and assembled my rifle so i cant say how it shoots yet. the barrel itself its nice, looks well made and finish was great. but i had issues from the start with it. basically its communication issues not so much the barrel itself. the bolt didnt rotate in the extension so i had to mail it back with the bolt to be fixed on my dime. three times. click my name, view my posts, read about it, decide on your own. it could have all been avoided when i asked if they wanted my bolt when i ordered. and id still consider ordering a barrel from them if this one shoots, i will just leave no room for errors from them. it was well priced for the features i got and i was able to choose exactly what i wanted. 18" rifle gas, which was a hard combo to find.

I stand by my satisfaction with the barrel and still plan on getting Carl's 6.5 Grendal variant and the .260 Rem at some point. But I still have to get a day at the range to wring out the 5.56 that I've had together for over a month.
