Just bought a DPMS 308 semi auto and want to start reloading for it.I want to use Sierra 168 grain Matchkings and need some load data that works well using Varget.Let me know what produces good groups for you.

Also, during the break in period of this gun would you clean after every shot and if so for how long? Thanks for any insight!

Between 42.5-44 grains will be best but work up loads for your rifle. As far as break in, just shoot it, don't get the barrel hot and clean it after the range session. Oh and keep the BCG lubed up during the first few range trips as well.

Can't help you with the load data for 168s, all my data is using 178 and 180 grain bullets. But do forget about break-in, this is a good procedure for wasting ammunition and time. As was stated before keep the BCG well lubed.

My buddy has a load of 41gr Varget, Win brass, 168SMK, CCI rifle primers that shoots lights out in just about everything and would totally be safe in your gas gun. But he used the Sierra manual which is VERY conservative. My Hodgdon manual lists 42gr as the starting load - so his accuracy load is 1 gr below starting load!
