Anyone know where a stash of 308 uppers are with FA and the spec rail height are? Planning a build.

I emailed DPMS about two weeks ago to try and determine whether I have their old or new height A3 upper. I asked them about their quad rails and they said they have rails for both new and old heigts, as well as old and new height uppers. If you are wanting to use the majority or aftermarket rails you will want their old height. Email their CS and they should get you set up. Good luck.

Troy seems to be on top of it. They have a pretty decent explanation on their site. Download the PDF on the link below and it is pretty straightforward. Found out I have the new upper receiver height. Lucky me. Hope this helps.

Just call them and the guy said he had none of the old type uppers and that they had no plans to produce any more of that type.
They are as bad as Leupold for contradicting info.

SI Defense in Wyoming a little more expensive but very nice parts. They align perfect with my Daniels Defense and the old DPMS free float rails I have give them a look

IRA, JD, JP, Kaiser, Fulton Armory, POF, SI-Defense and obviously Bushmaster/Remington.
Fulton is the cheapest option if you're looking to find an old spec height, but with Troy and other companies making rails to line up the new height . . .

That is awesome cuz I have an email from DPMS (Adam Ballard-Product Manager) on the 31st of January saying that they have the old height A3 uppers if I needed one to match.
So either they have sold out extremely quick or one employee from the next doesn't know their own inventory. I'm thinking it has to be the second explanation. Gotta love people who don't konw that they're talking about. And what really kills me is out of the DPMS line up, the 308 Platform is said to be much better due to they QA/QC time they put into it. All I know is I want my build done and over with. After that it will be the last time doing an AR 308 build.
