Night Vision DPSS lasers as viable IR option?

Do you think it would be possible to purchase AND THEN modify one of these lasers to be IR only, or am I mis-understanding something?

you talking about modifying pen laser pointers ?

( i think) laser chip is already on engineered stetting . There is no way to change the nm wave length frequencies of those diodes . & i think that the wave frequency of the Diodes are already preset to the 500 - 600 nm range on what are looking @ on the Pen Pointers .
You need Diode nm frequencies of 800 to 900 for compatible NV IR supplements .

laser Diodes are already commercially available for sale for in 800-900nm for as little as 60-70$ dollar range .
