    Too embarrassed to ask this in the suppressor section, so I'll here. What real purpose does the cover serve? Wouldn't it just create an added fire hazard from a hot suppressor? I mean I can see how a camo version might be useful in the field, but I'm meaning on just the range. Or is this just something that mall ninjas do on the range when they show up wearing full camo?

    A good suppressor cover should handle the heat of normal target and hunting shooting situations without any problems. However if it is cloth based it will not do well for rapid fire tactical drills.

    There are several advantages to using a cover on your suppressor;
    - mirage mitigation
    - protection from injuring yourself from touching a hot suppressor
    - helps reduce white out with thermal scopes
    - and protects your suppressor from damage.

    Oh and they look cool too!

    If you have a good suppressor cover it should handle even some rapid fire situations without becoming a fire hazard.
