I've got a proven load using 1x fired hornady brass; powder/primer/bullet/brass combo shoots good, no need to mess with it.

Got a good deal on some brand new hornady brass. Figured I'd neck size it and use same recipe.

Started reading tonight (here & elsewhere) and now seeing some people saying the virgin brass won't shoot the same while others say it's no big deal.

What to do? I don't figure the pressures could be that different but I'm somewhat of a novice reloader. My first inclination is to neck size the new brass, trim/chamfer/debur and load some up using the known good data to see how it groups.

What do y'all say?

You didn’t say what cartridge? No time like now to do your test. Do the neck prep you listed and shoot them. Gotta make them once fire somehow. My guess is they go right into the group with your current fired brass load, but they’ll be very slightly slower.

Follow first inclination.

IF doesn't go where expected, then chrono and adjust load accordingly. I wouldn't load up too many until confirmed what is needed.

Factory or custom barrel?
How much does shoulder move upon firing?
How much does body diameter increase just above web and just below body/shoulder junction?
What powder?
Bullet weight?
