Not sure if this is the correct category to post this in...

Is there such a thing as a dummy R700 barrel that can be screwed into an action and used to test things out, such as barrel inlet of a stock or spacing/alignment of inner chassis systems or whatnot?

I have other builds but would prefer not to take off the barreled action from them to test things out with other stocks and accessories.

I could also buy a take-off barrel and just temporarily screw it onto an action to test things out, but was wondering if there was a more official and lightweight way than just having a spare steel take-off barrel laying around.

Thanks!

If you need a std contour find a take off tomato stake from your local gunsmith. if your close to Victoria TX you can look thru my stash of them. If weight is a issue you could turna solid blank out of alum.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I live in a big city with no local gunsmith and limited space, so something like a polymer dummy barrel would have been ideal. But it sounds like the simplest option is to get a cheap take-off barrel from GB or something.

I suppose you could get some delrin roundstock, and fit it to your action. Would be pretty simple, but I wouldn't ask too much from it either. Easily machined though, and profiled to what you want.
