How thick is the padding? I need to raise my head about .75 or so for better scope alignment.

The stock pack itself is about 3/8", so if you need more than that, you can add foam to the stock.

Thanks Steve, I was hoping there would be room to add padding if needed. Ordering one today.

I read a review saying that adding more padding in order to raise the cheek weld was not possible due to the velcro.
What did that reviewer mean? I'm looking to order one but I want to make sure that I can get a good cheek weld with it.

Whoever wrote that review was severely mentally retarded. His parents had no children live to adulthood. Most of us are ex-mil and not necessarily the sharpest knives in the drawer and even we figured out how to move the straps to make room for a riser without a demonstration, explanation, or practical application.
It will do what you ask, and in fact is purposely built to do what you ask.

Most guys will start out by adding a layer of foam/mouse pad taped to the comb of the rifle, and then add the stock pack to that.

...and with good results. Best way I've found to increase comb height without altering the stock.

If the stock is any smaller than an HTG, the large stock pack will be too big. Really fits better on the LTR/PSS/A3-5 size stocks.
