I have a very early Remington 40X repeater in 308/ 7.62 NATO. I believe that it could be from the 1964 era. She is in mint condition and has been gone through by the great Stan Taylor and crew at Douglas barrels with a new unfired Douglas XX match grade air gauged chrome moly barrel. This rifle is in mint condition and I have not fired it since completion. She has good walnut for a 40X. The pics does not do her justice. $1490 plus shipping to your FFL. I only accept United States Postal Money Order from the Postal Service. Thanks for looking. She is also posted on another site, so the time stamp wins.

I do have the two filler screws for the action and the action screws are the newer hex head screws. The action is smooth as silk. Thanks for the kind comments. The pics really does not do her justice. These are hard to find in this condition for such a old rifle, and a new un-fired match barrel to boot from one of the country's top guys.

Troupe , or anyone else that knows ,
Sorry to dredge up an old post but i was looking up what finish was used on the 40x repeater stocks , I just snagged one that has nice grain but has a few use marks , it doesn't look like an oil finish , any help is appreciated ,
