I was just on the Eberlestock website and their new chassis for the Rem 700 is ready for ordering. The SA is available now and the LA will follow in a few months is sais. I am waiting for that LA for my 300WM.

Re: Eberlestock Chassis Released

Eberlestock packs aren't even the prettiest backpacks made, but they are strong, functional and the do as they were designed and I think this chassis will do the same. I am hoping it is as light as it looks..that will make it my perfect elk rifle.

You've got more $$$ than I do. That is one expensive piece of kit. I have no problem embracing the "buy once cry once" philosophy, but that implies that you are getting greater quality for the increase in price. Maybe that is true here, but I don't see it. BTW I have two Eberlestock packs, and wouldn't trade 'em.

+100, especially since I have commitment issues.

Re: Eberlestock Chassis Released

I didn't look at the cost of the thing. They brought it out much higher than they at first estimated. At 1895.00 its priced out of the market there are better opportunities for a chassis system.

Re: Eberlestock Chassis Released

Dude, I fondled it at SHOT, and it is stout and lightweight. I do believe it is priced out of reach of alot of people, but I can't say it isnt worth the money. If money were no object I'd buy one, but I don't even have any scopes that approach this price.

It sure felt right though, and it takes any AR-15 grip on the market which is a plus(not a justification for the price, just like it as a feature). I would prefer having the ability to customize the grip to suit me. It was considerably lighter to me than an AICS, but I don't have the numbers here to compare actual weight.

On another Eberlestock note, I will be buying one of the new sleeping bags whenever they become available. Nice!

Re: Eberlestock Chassis Released

Not super ugly but not good looking either. Seems nice but a little late to market and not inovative enough to justify the price.
