Eberlestock chassis

Re: Eberlestock chassis

Wow, that is INCREDIBLE! I'd like to see one in person. Good thing HQ is right across town.

Re: Eberlestock chassis

I have never shot an adjustable stock. What do you guys think of his "set it and forget it" adjustability? I always thought the advantage to an adjustable was the ability to get proper cheek weld prone versus more upright positions

Re: Eberlestock chassis

I agree Low Sioux the ability to set it to my weird body not the stock makers settings. I can just leave it alone and know it is right everytime I pickup the rifle. IF the rifle is fitted to you properly there should be no need whatsoever to change LOP or cheek height when changing positions they should be the same.

Re: Eberlestock chassis

I really like the simplicity and am curious about the weight (especially compared to an XLR). I wish they would have a Savage inlet so I could use one for a lightweight 243 folder. I have one XLR already (300wm 700) and its awesome, but something lighter (around 3lbs) would be great.

I've been waiting for something like this for an FN rifle for a long time.

I hope it's super-lightweight.

+1. I was looking for chassis systems too. Thats how I ended up carrying a McRees out of there........

Re: Eberlestock chassis

You missed it at shot b/c Glen was buried on the bottom floor. I just walked by and and Glen was busy. Was going to go back and look but I was so sick I didn't do much of anything except go to the appointments I had set up. Looks interesting though!

Re: Eberlestock chassis

Hank,
If you believe that you will not need to adjust your stock for different positions, I think you will be sadly mistaken. If you shoot out of the same position, I would agree.

If you visit with anyone that shoots multiple positions, or more so, competitive position shooters, they will tell you that a fixed stock, no matter the position, will compromise other positions.

If you set up the stock as a happy medium, the positions will all be compromised to one degree or another. Not to say that you can't make it work, but you can make nearly anything work. Ideal is something different.

Re: Eberlestock chassis

Just watched the video. I will be keeping a very close eye on the ship date and price of these. That is a sexy stock for sure.

The only thing I would like to see is the ability to use AIAW mags and a little longer cheek piece would be nice to help accomadate different positions. The short cheek piece is why I don't like the PRS stocks for AR's. It looks like it would be easy enough to have a longer cheekpiece made or it might be available by the time it hits production.

Re: Eberlestock chassis

Just called Eberlestock....the girl says its a prototype in the video and no set release date and cost yet. She took my email and phone to contact me when more info comes available.

Re: Eberlestock chassis

Now this looks absolutely awesome. I also agree that it is nice to see a "chassis system" for the Model 70 action.

Too bad we all know that "release date and cost not set yet" generally means that production will begin in 12-18 months.
