Concerning the operator and gunslinger 2 pack.... is there a zipper flap on the top where the scabbard is? On the Terminator pack there is a zippered "trap door" at the top that closes off the internal tube where the add-on scabbard slides through.

My concern is with the Operator and Gun slinger 2 is when I am not using the internal scabbard can I close off the top and bottom so no debirs/rain etc. can get into the internal scabbard?

If anyone has any pictures of the top of the Operator pack I would greatly appreciate it. I am still on the fence if I want to go with the Operator or Terminator.

Thanks!

Thanks for your PM. I replied with an answer.

To clarify the OP's question, there is no protective flap/cover at the entrance to the integrated scabbard on the G4 Operator. This is also the case with all Eberlestock packs that have the sewn in, integrated scabbard.

Also, there is no aftermarket accessory offered by Eberlestock or other vendor that is specifically designed to act as a removable cover for the scabbard entrance when it is not in use. There is an opportunity here...

One way to remedy the issue of an open, exposed scabbard entrance is to install the Butt Cover that comes with the pack. While it is designed to cover & protect the rifle's buttstock while being carried within the scabbard, you could certainly clip it into place without a rifle inside the scabbard. It might look unusual to have the Butt Cover protruding above the entrance without a rifle inside but it will at least serve to keep the inside of the scabbard dry & debris free...

Best of luck.

Re: Eberlestock Operator and Gunslinger 2 question

As ceylon said, the butt cover works well, but i do something a little different on my G4. I invert the butt cover and reverse it so I can snap the closures with the cover inverted into the scabbard. Keeps the scabbard free of debris and doesn;t have a floppy cover hanging out. If debris (mostly dust and dirt) gets into the butt cover it is no big deal to shake it out when you remove it from the scabbard to actually put a rifle in there.

Just another idea,

Looks like there is room to put a folded stock rifle in that pack. Anyone put a folded AICS stock in these with the barrel pointing up?
