I had one of the original all-American made AMGs

one of my criticisms of the scope (overall great scope) was the EBR7 reticle, the other was the eyebox which I found to be much tighter than my Gen2R

I didn't like the huge gaps on both sides of the center where I was guessing how many .1 of MIL each side

the EBR-7B seems to have addressed the reticle issue very nicely. had mine had this reticle I likely would have kept it

I like the new one as well pine and have the old reticle, but to swap it out for one that has a center dot may not be feasible. Though mine is one of the few that everything was made in the USA, whereas the reticle on the new ones are done in Germany, doesn't matter to me but might to others.

To the community, if you have an AMG with the new center dot reticle but would prefer the original all USA version with crosshair reticle, let me know ;)

It's a definite improvement over the original reticle, we have a few in stock right now :) https://bit.ly/2xDFmdK

I'm on the opposite end. I prefer the EBR-7 over the 7B. Just randomly looking through scopes, I love the center dots. But when actually shooting, my eye picks up crosshairs easier/faster. The gaps on the original 7 at the 4.5 mil mark also seem to help "guide" my eyes into the center.

I emailed Vortex about swapping reticles and they said not possible at this time. Just FYI.

While my preference is center dot rets, I do not mind how Vortex designed the original EBR-7 reticle as you mention DT, it works really well for how I shoot.

I thought on a previous thread in here they were swapping them out for a $300 fee. I thought about as I would too prefer the dot center but It's not enough of a change for $300. Now if they had added the center dot and moved the numbers out to the edges then I would be boxing mine up right now. If they came out with something like the Bushnell DMR G2, I'd be all over that as well. I think that's the best one yet.
