I mounted up an EGW 20MOA base the other day, bore sighted the 10/22, and took it to the range. It was shooting pretty far to the right...so I adjusted it a bit. Not much improvement...adjusted it more.

Long story short, I ran out of windage adjustment. What could I have done wrong here?

I'm thinking I should take everything off, remount it, count clicks on the windage adjustment and set it in the middle, and see what happens.

Any other input or experiences?

Re: EGW 20MOA Base

I'm using Burris Signature Zee rings with offset inserts (I did check to make sure they were aligned correctly.)

I put the nuts on the left side, opposite to the action.

I wouldn't rule myself out of making a really elementary mistake, I'm a beginner, to say the least.

Re: EGW 20MOA Base

I made a real beginner mistake once... I mounted a scope twisted to a full 90 degrees to the left. This put my elevation knob on the left side of the scope while my windage was on the top.

Other than that... Could something have happened to make it so that your barrel is now touching the stock? Maybe the new base is loose or there is something like a burr between is and the receiver?

Re: EGW 20MOA Base

I'd certainly take it apart and slowly put it back together verifying everything as you go. I had a similar issue with my .204 last weekend used all of my adjustment to get zeroed. I took the bolt out and looked down the barrel to verify it was indeed an issue and it was. Put different rings on it, everything looked fine, put the original rings back on and it was fine again, not sure what the issue was. The rings were Burris Signature so I'll be watching for this in the future or going to different rings just in case.
