(Set up now) Weaver 30mm Tactical 6-Hole Weaver-Style Rings Matte Low with (front) Weaver Top-Mount Scope Base #35M & (rear) Weaver Top-Mount Scope Base #36M

I bought an EGW one piece tactical rail and it was awful. It brought my scope like over a 1/4 of an inch in the front & back (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=147936).
I really din't like it my chick even didn't rest on the stock. This rail is to high even with low rings.

Re: EGW one piece rail vs Weaver 2 piece rail system

You need a tactical stock, with a higher cheek rest, or added cheek riser. Its the nature of the beast, 1 piece 20moa bases are tall. My 0 moa base on my Savage 10FP is taller than I like, without rings my scope sets on it perfect

For my Savage, EGW offers a Heavy Duty base that is lower profile, made of better aluminum, don't see it for your set up however. I'd call EGW, and ask if they offer it for the Weatherby.

Sounds to me like you are upset about 2 things: height added by using the EGW, and that you haven't gained much fore/aft adjustability. I would also like to know if certain one piece bases are longer than others. Anyhow, it's probably common knowledge that scopes have different eye relief tolerances, so you may not gain too much in being able to adjust more than "X" amount fore/aft. I read this thread a while back: http://snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1683094 The two piece NF bases look to have about as much fore/aft adjustability as what you currently have. However, you'll also note the difference in manufacturers in height. Notably, if you want a 20 MOA, you'll gain in height, right?

You should try a Lawton rail!
I thought my 20 MOA rail was high until I got a 0 MOA one! It's even higher!
In my case, it's no big deal as use with the AN/PVS-22 Universal Night Sight requires a high rail/mount combination.

Anyway, here is the USO Posa Lock MkII, along with the 4" Sunshade/ARD (which is removed for the UNS).
Machining my 20 MOA rail to take the Posa Lock, the center of the rail doesn't have any slots for the recoil lug.

I have many of the EGW bases, they are high but that is becuse they are all 20 moa, my buddies badger 20 moa looks the same...much more expensive. I agree with an earlier post: a stock with a higher cheek rest will probably help a great deal.

I have the EGW HD 30 moa base. Same thing with higher grade aluminum and the base is a little lower. Only around 15 dollars more than the standard.
