I am about to purchase egw 30mm rings and 20moa base from optics planet. They have their .840 rings on sale for 57.00. The .850 is alot higher money wise, are the .840 rejects, and will they be ok for 50mm objective.

I use the EGW bases and have not had any problems with them in my application. Never used their rings.

The rings are two different designs. The .840 are the "practical" line and the .850 are the "tactical" design. The tactical are machined as a matched pair and serialized and are split horizontally while the practical are split vertically and, I'm guessing, machined individually. Go directly to EGW's website and check them out.
