All,
My Elcan showed up Saturday and today I got to put it on the range.
Let me preface this by saying I was a coastie, only experience is rescue. Training on DI, pistols, shotguns and handguns, but all shooting experience is limited.
I've owned ACOGs, various LPVOs, and optics of all brands....and let me tell you, this Elcan was flat amazing.
Took me a grand total of 9 rounds to zero in my scar 17, and the last 3 of those 9 were stacked on top of each other at 100 yards.
I've flat out never had something on a rifle that made me feel more in control and in tune with my rifle. ARMS mount was very secure, and the red dot was daylight bright. Glass was extremely clear, hash marks were not overbearing like some optics (I get confused easy), and by the 12th round I was ringing steel at 200 yards with an ease that surprised.
It's expensive, but I can't believe it took me this long to get one...I'll never look back.
Thanks to everyone who pointed me in this direction, never would of made the leap without the push (reminded me of my first water insertion).
