ELD-X copper fouling?

Am I the only one who has seen copper fouling go up exponentially when using these bullets? I can get 1/2" groups when the barrel is clean but 15-20 shots in and it's all over the place. Should I be developing my loads with the barrel fouled? Should I switch back to Berger? Anyone want to trade? Haha.

I work up loads with a dirty barrel and only clean when the barrel tells me it's time, as for the X I shot 25 and did not have a problem

Kind of sounds like a shot out barrel.

There's something else going on there and I'd bet it's not the bullets. How many rounds through the barrel?

It's a Remington Model 700 7 Mag made in the 80's. I know I've personally put somewhere around 600 rounds through it, not sure of how many it had before.

I shoot 162 gr. ELD-X in my .284 Win. While the jacket is soft, they copper foul no worse than Bergers with a J4 jacket.
