Anybody know if there is any difference in the 'Thickness' .
    of the copper plating on the - Berry's / Ranier / X-treme, 9mm & .45 bullets ?

Or is the difference of thickness each brand has of the electroplated bullets anything to care about ?

Last time I checked Rainier bullets were .010" thick and the Berry bullets were .007"....I think...I could have gotten them backwards. Regardless of their thickness they both shoot the same when so I mixed them for both my 9mm and 45ACP.

No idea on the Extreme bullets.

    I order-up 1-k of the X-treme plated 124's & I will give them a try .
Never used the Plated . From what I am reading electroplated does make a good bond & does not perform that different from jacketed in low Vel pistol Cal's. & everybody is loving them .
So looks like I will be loading a few thousand up this winter .

Only drawback reading is that they do Not make a good defense Round .

Thickest plating is on the Gold Dot (tm) slugs.

    But them's Premium Bullet$.

I can speak only to the Berry's stuff, which in .40 at 155s I've shot to 1100 fps or so (IIRC), and in .357 with 125s I've launched at something more than 1200 fps.

No real problems with either, though accuracy at any speeds (including .38 Sp at 700 fps) has never been quite as good as my own cast bullets.

Commercial cast bullets with that crayon-like lube, though--almost always the worst accuracy of anything I load, equalling one batch of lesser-brand lead .40 ammo I bought once. Plus they usually lead anyway...

So I reserve the plated bullets to nothing more demanding than an IPSC A-Zone or a 2-liter plastic soda jug at 25 yards.

NONE of them have ever leaded on me, in several pistols and revolvers, .38 Sp, 9mm, .40, .357 & .45 ACP.

Can't remember what non-Berry's I once used years ago, but they worked too.

To the OP, when loading plated bullets use the same process as lead bullets especially when crimping. The copper plate is only there to minimize barrel leading and of course lead exposure, but the amount of required crimp is still far less than that of a jacketed bullet.

+1 I loaded some 124 Berrys 9mm and they shot fine with the higher powder charge, but shot better after following the lead load guidelines.

got on it today & put some of them threw the Chrony. to double check on data . & on targets also .
I really dont see or feel anything different from these thin electroplated to premium jacket projectiles other than my wallet staying a little fatter when USPS dropped the box off & the door .
