Rifle Scopes Elevation S&B 12-50

I am trying to help a friend out and figure a few things out.

He has a S&B 12-50x56 pmII scope with 1/8moa click value. From my internet search, I believe it has 0-75 moa elevation adjustment.

Would he be better off using a 20 moa rail and a 6mil spuhr mount or just a 20 moa rail and 0*cant rings.

Goal-100 yrd zero and shoot out to 1k yards with .308

He can get out to 1k yards with his 5-25 pmii but the 12-50 from my understanding has less elevation.

75moa he should be fine with only the 20moa base.

I will tell him not to get the 6 mil cant spunrs then if you think it will reach 1k with just the 20moa rail.
