No public shooting ranges available in this area. Blackwater/Academi/US Training Center is right up the road near Moyock and I believe they host some USPSA matches.
Correction- one public range near Hertford on HWY 17- Allen's - $10/hour last time I checked.

The "C2 Shooting Center" is a really nice range. It is located in the Pungo area of Chesapeake, VA, maybe 45-60min drive from your new AO in EC. They have a nice website too, just google and you will find them. They've got shooting lanes at 25/50/100/200/300 yds.
Then there is Academi/Blackwater. It's a pretty cool place with some shooting activities that civi's can participate in. A couple of shooting clubs have access to their facilities and ability to hold matches (USPSA/NRA HP/etc). They have some matches out to 1000yds on occassion (one this weekend in fact).
There are some good organized matches, in many different shooting disiplines, that are held on a pretty regular basis within a one hour drive of EC. Also, a few long range precision type matches held on a regular basis, located in NC about 3-4 hours away.
