I think they were losing money last I heard. I don't think the government will let them go under but the market has created FedEx, DHL, UPS and many smaller shipping companies. If postal employees lose their jobs, there are those companies for them to look for work.
Do you think they need a handout? Government jobs guaranteed for life?
Not in an industry where they could be replaced by drones.

I live in what is a rural area for mail men and doctors. Things have improved with both services. But I need to know what is between the two examples to make a definitive answer. Plus, I shouldn't expect the government to do me any favors. Ask not what your country can do for you...
