Middle 'Merica!
I've been an Aimpoint guy for years, and have tried EOTECH and kept going back to Aimpoint. I particularly like the Micro line of Aimpoint red dots, but when Eotech came out with the Green reticle model I decided to give it a try and after a few months working with it in various drills and from the bench, I have to say, I have it now as my default optic on my M4A1 SOCOM (LE6920) and I **really** like it. I've read articles on how the human eye reacts and interacts with green reticles, but I can't explain it, but for what I do with my M4 this thing really does the trick, and I have it paired up with the Eotech 3X magnifier, which, in my opinion, is a great optic, offering even diopter adjustment, which I needed.

I do like the fact that with an Aimpoint you basically can turn it on and leave it on for a year without worrying about the battery, and yes, the Micros are more compact, but I find I can acquire targets from low ready, and so forth, more easily with the EOTECH. And of course, this model is the latest version, the post-problematic line, etc.

Anyone else using the newer EOTECH Green Reticle model? Here is my M4 with the EOTECH and magnifier (on the right obviously).

If you are only asking about the color not the optic itself.....

Different animal but my TA33 has green for the sight color.

Perhaps a little less harsh, "cooler" to the eye.

My USO 1-8X has blue for the reticle outline - super easy on the eye - you could look through it all day.

Red can be harsh I guess or imprints stronger giving ghost images but if you really need your eye drawn to a point fast red probably does it.

You might get more feedback if this thread was in the “semi auto rifle” section I think most of the people in the “rifle scope” section are thinking more long range type of optics, but to give my input on your topic I have always been a Aimpoint red dot type of guy also and have been thinking of getting a Eotech lately mainly for the larger sight window.

I debated that, but ... then I'd be told ... put it in the optic section. :)

I'm like you. Always Aimpoint guy, but the green reticle in the EOTECH made me a convert. And I find I can get on target more quickly with the EOTECH with my older eyes.

I don’t have the green reticle version. I have a couple red. I plan on buying a green in the near future. I obviously can’t comment on the red versus green reticle, but I have always liked the Eotech reticle better than just a plain dot. I find it easier to pick up the circle/dot of the Eotech.
