Rifle Scopes EOTech Vudu 5-25 FFP Riflescope - H59 Reticle (MRAD) VDU5-25FFH59

There is a lot of info out there on the 5-25...you should probably take a look at them and form your own opinion...

Honestly...there are so many "flavors" in the shooters community that you will get muddied water.

EOtech 5-25 is a well rounded optic. H59 reticle for me is perfect...all mil based...simple to use...easy ranging feature out to 5 mils which for most is around 600m/650yards...I prefer a h59 over a tremor based all day, everyday.

Thanks for the info, how is the build quality?

That is as good as you are going to get from what I've seen...I almost snatched it up but went with a Mark 6 3-18 ECOS-O clone setup instead...which I might eventually trade off for a Elcan 1.5/6 for my SCAR...we shall see.

I've had one for six months to a year. Didn't mount it until a month ago. DVOR has had them on sale for about the same price you saw. They are not showing current availability. There have been a number in the Optics PX but none currently. If you search there you will pull the old ads and it will give you an idea of pricing.

I mounted it on an AR-15 Varmint and the more I've used it the more I've liked it. When it came in I checked it against one of my SWFA SS 5-20s. The SWFAs are my baseline and I have three. The VUDU is actually easier use in every respect that comes to mind except the reticle. You like the H-59 so my reticle opinion is a non starter. I'll give you my opinions but that's all they are. My criteria are not nearly as complex as the guys that do the great reviews. IQ is good +. Elevation is lots. I'm using XTR Signature rings with 25MOA inserts and I have 27Mils up and 6Mils down. I do not see any CA. Edge to edge is good. Elevation knob is very tactile, lines up perfect, very visible markings, locks down and has an easy to see and use rev counter. Windage knob is OK but not as impressive. It is capped and once set becomes irrelevant to me. Eye box is good and relatively forgiving. Parallax is fairly critical at shorter ranges but becomes less so as the distance increases. Fit and finish is excellent but I haven't banged it round enough to comment on how it will hold up. The same is true for it's mechanical longevity. I just don't know and probably won't for a few years.

I have no experience with other shorty scopes. The other scopes that I can compare it to are several Viper 6.5-20s, three SWFA SS 5-20s, two Weaver Tactical 3-15s, Leupold Vari X III LR and S&B PMII 5-25. Ultimately, for me, the final criteria is how easy it is to use. The prize goes to the VUDU. The VUDU is extremely easy to set up. Once set up the IQ of the PMII puts it in another league but so does the price.
