Hey guys I just bought a 512 Eotech and I noticed when looking through it the circle and dot appear to be "Fuzzy". I don't know if this is normal or if it should be a sharp circle an dot?? Any thoughts on it?? I have never even looked through one before buying it so I don't know what they are suppose to actully look like. Thanks!!!!

Re: Eotech??

Mine is fuzzy too, but that's because I shoot without my glasses. My eyesight isn't terrible but things get a little blurry when I don't wear them. However, no one else has mentioned that fact to me and I've had many fellow soldiers shoot my personal weapons

Re: Eotech??

Holograms do not have sharp contrast so it's normal. Also, try focusing on the target with both eyes open and allow the reticle to naturally fall on the target. Do not focus on the reticle, as in front sight shooting. Turning down to lowest brightness that you can still see in your environment helps. Also, make sure you have full distance correction in your glasses or contacts when shooting. Any uncorrected astigmatism will cause exaggerated blur when shooting.

Re: Eotech??

I think there is a difference between looking through it on and off your rifle. I thought the same but then when i mounted it and got to the range in daylight it was much improved. Put a 3x behind it and am happy.

Re: Eotech??

My 552 is fuzzy as well. When I got it, I checked out the ones that my buddies have, and theyre all the same. I dont think that it sharpens up at the range, its just that you dont pay attention to it. Like someone else said, its a hologram, I dont think it can be completely crisp. In my case, it doesnt affect my shooting at all

This has worked for me as well.

Re: Eotech??

The hologram is focused on infinity, same as a pilot's HUD. If you try to look at the hologram it will be very fuzzy and grainy, but if you pull your rifle up and let your eye focus on some trees in the far off distance, it should be sharper.

The 3x magnifier "clears" it up since it is focused farther out, so your eye can't look at the hologram directly.

The EOTechs never get really sharp in my opinion, even looking far out, but that's the nature of the compromises used to make them so badass.

Re: Eotech??

the center 1 moa dot will be clear and the ring around slightly fuzzy, this is normal.

It has been like this on ever Eotech I have seen, I own a 552.
