Looking into putting a new barrel on my remington 700 sps. I would like to go from 308 to 6.5 creedmoor. i AM looking at er shaw (i know there are betters but this is ok for what i want) they dont say how there barrels come. I am guessing short chambered but does anybody have any experience with these?

I'm guessing they'll ship them however you want them done, but they also install them for a pretty low cost. I had them barrel one of my rifles and was quite pleased. It shot great and the work looked as good as any other. I'm hearing they are pretty backed up right now, so it may take them a while to get it done.

That's not too out of line if you're having them headspace it for you. I just waited 8 months on my last build from a smith and its still screwed up.
The shaw barrel will be fine.

I know the Shaw barrel I had years ago wasnt worth the bullet I was slinging down it. I hear they have gotten a lot better since, but I am not going down that road again. There are a lot of happy people out there with there new stuff though I hear.

I have one on my howa .284 no complaints here it shoots better than I can.

Concerning the phrase "shoots better than I can" how does someone know when there rifle does this. My rifles shoot great whenever I take them out shooting. If I stood back and watched the gun shoot itself would I be in awe?

LOL, when you figure out how to do that (mental image of shooter with mouth hanging open in amazement) let me know. I want to be able positively blame the rifle when it ain't cuttin it.

I know that my rifle shoots better than I do because I let someone else shoot it that is a much better shot than myself and he shot better with the gun than I did. You can't blame everything on the rifle if it don't shoot how you want it too. Also I'm not gonna waste my time and sit here and lie to people on the internet about "what I can do." Its also not too hard to tell shooter error from loading problems if you know what you are looking at.
