I am a huge NF fan and currently own four of them. The last one i purchased was the 2.5-10x23 for my FNAR. A few weeks ago i noticed that at 300yards i was getting fliers that were beyond "my errors." I would get 3 shots that were sub-moa and two fliers that were 1 to 2" on either direction. It just didnt make sense.
I contacted NF and they asked me to send in the scope. I pretty much thought that i was hallucinating and maybe it was the rifle itself. So i also sent the FNAR to Mark at Short Action Customs to look over since he had done the muzzle brake install on the rifle. As Mark always does, he checked out the rifle and came back with a clean bill of health.
I received my scope back from NF yesterday, a little over 3weeks after i sent it in. There were no notes inside and just an invoice that said repair. I contacted them this morning and they told me that the erector and spring were out of spec and the entire erector and spring setup was replaced with a new one and they checked over everything else and passed a 70 point inspection. The guy i spoke to said that he has been at NF for 3yrs and it is the first time he has seen this and last year they had a 0.9% malfunction which is as good as it gets. I have no doubt that they are honest about that number.
Needless to say, i am very happy and impressed with the service i received and glad that my scope is back in shape. I can also take sigh of relief cause i really thought that it was me causing all the fliers lol. I still support NF 100% and will continue to use their products, but i guess anything can have a flaw. Just wanted to share.
