Should you do this to all newly mounted scopes that might not come already centered? And I am assuming you can only do this with a flat base correct? Does erector centering only apply to FFP scopes? Sorry I searched and couldnt find everything that I wanted to know.
Thanks

It's a waste of time but can be done with a mirror, if you wish.
With lots of all around light, place the objective on the mirror and ajust until you only see one set of cross hairs. It only takes about 10 seconds to do this, once you get the hang of it. Then if you want, you can get a fair idea how much you have in W an E.
Normally this is only done if your mounting allows both ajustments, that way you can get the most out of your glass an mounts for long as well as close.

Keep in mind that 90% of the time there will be a difference between mechanical center and optical center. Rarely will you ever have both being at the same location.

Ok well thats good to know, I just wanted to make sure I wasnt short changing myself by not doing this. My rings dont have the windage adjustments so I think I will be ok.
