Went to a long distance shoot this weekend. Got the chance for some trigger time on an Erma Werke 100 in .338 lapua - just 5 rounds. Had an S&B scope - wow! What a gun. Anyone else shot one of these? Don't think they are very common or available in the US. Saw one for sale on gunbroker about a year ago or so - should have snapped it up.

Re: Erma werke 100

Never seen one but if i remember correctly one was sold here or was at least up for sale not too long ago. Nice looking rifle from the pictures I've seen.

Re: Erma werke 100

I've also seen one (sr100 at the range with Hensoldt 6-24x72 unfortunately it was in the hands of less than competent shooter and more of a status symbol. I'm sure an excellent rifle (as most german made stuff is) and it's also insanely expensive (as most german made stuff is). I wasn't really impressed with it (bulky, ugly) with mounted telescope it looked like something an asshole would buy to impress the ladies (in this case groups with lapua ammo from fixed stand (also spage age type stand with more dials than a space shuttle) were around 1MOA - 100% sure the shooter error as he obviously forgot the trigger device

). For police or counter terrorist stationary use i'd say ok but for an average joe or any kind of mobile employment total waste of money...

SurgeonPredator - thanks for the heads up on Hippo939 - will pm him

Sharac - I think your observations are probably spot on - too many faux shooters with more money than common sense.
Still, I would rather drive a porsche (if I could afford it) than a buick!
