Re: Everyone's Favorite Brew?
Beer: Typically anything with an American name and no more than 3.5% ABV, or in other words, crap not worth the money you spend on it
Lager: Typically higher ABV than 3.5% with some being good and others setting the standard such as Samuel Adams Boston Lager
Ale: Typically smaller batch or small brewery bottled brews that are 5% ABV and higher. Available in Red/Amber, India Pale(noted by a higher amount of hops, and ABV of 5.5%+), Browns, Bitters, and others
Porters: Malt dominates and usually have a nice dark color and palate, ABV is typically from 4% up
Stout: Mother's Milk. Dark and Malty, some better than others. ABV's from 5% to as high as 9% or more
Stout's first and foremost, with Guinness being the standard but Pyramid Espresso being my favorite(and unobtainable out here in TN...anyone?) IPA's during the summer along with Heffeweizens. Love the Amber Ales during spring and fall and for some reason always look forward to the special brews from a little company in Chico, Nor-Cal(Sierra-Neveda)
As usual, I love trying all the local brews. Yazoo here in Nashville, TN so far is outstanding
