Exactly Which Model is This

A buddy has asked me to help sell a Remington 700.
I want to make sure I have the model right before I post the rifle for sale.

The receiver nor the barrel have any distinction other than Remington Model 700, but it's in a factory HS Precision stock and 26" fluted stainless.

I'm more of a Savage man, so I just want to make sure we're calling this spade a spade.

26" Stailess matte fluted

Will the Sendero be marked as such on the receiver?
No box or papers, so I want to have the ID right from the start.

Senderos have 26" BBL's that are not fluted so I'm not to sure.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I've seen fluted Senderos from back in the day with 26" barrels in both 300wm and 25-06. I'm thinking they were late 90's production. Try calling remington with the SN# and they should be able to tell you.

Should be the original version of this RIFLE.

Looks like a Model 700 Sendero SF to me (Stainless Fluted).
They have a nice picture on their website that says so.

It's a Sendero. Not the old unfluted nonstainless. The First generation stainless fluted.

I think you're right.

He just called me back and he found the box.
He will e-mail me a pic of the label tomorrow and I'll get it all together and post in the FS section.

I too have seen fluted Sendaro's. Some have a black coating within the flutes and polished highs. Others are just plain stainless fluted.

The ones with the blackened flutes are the newest version, the Sendero II.
