Not remotely realistic, no chance at an Oscar, but absurdly entertaining.

As much comedy as action, cliched as hell, but enjoyed it.

Re: Expendables II

Worth the watch? Enjoyed the 1st one...nowhere near realistic but you can imagine right?!?

Who cares about realistic as long as there are lots of things blowing up, blood, and gore.

Re: Expendables II

sometimes a movie can be something other than a documentary, with that many big names in the credits, reality is replaced with pure hollywood badassnes (if that is a word)
cheers.

Re: Expendables II

So lets hear why Steven Seagal was not in the movie. I think that he was getting his topknot redone while at the all you can eat buffet.

Re: Expendables II

But so entertaining although I think they could have used anyone but van dam he looked like a recycled cat turd

Re: Expendables II

Always nice to see someone blown apart by a 50BMG. The one liners were good but not overdone. And lastly is nice not to watch everyone mugging for the camera.

Re: Expendables II

Premier glass on the .50. Damn good previews too. Looks like Arnie is getting off his butt to make another action movie. I grew up with fun action movies like this as a kid.

Re: Expendables II

I usually watch this stuff on line for free. I went and paid the $9.00 for the ticket and $5.00 for a coke. The movie is worth seeing. I mean how many movies have the best actions stars in it. Lots of folks were clapping at some of the poke fun at this movie and that movie. I do think this movie will be a classic action film in the very near future. Magnificent 7 style western in modern times. Go see it.

Re: Expendables II

Arnold can't make too much action in the movies. He's got a couple of heart valves that he has to keep an eye on.

Re: Expendables II

This movie was amazing, all the actor in it made it well worth seeing not to mention all the firearms i wish i could own.

Re: Expendables II

Just back from watching this. Entertaining for sure. Awesome to see all the old guys together and some of the lines are just hysterical.

Re: Expendables II

Definitely worth the watch. They could have spent a little more time on the CG, but the scenes with CG were very short, not really overdone. I kind of got a feeling like they were trying to bring back the late 80's early 90's appearance of film.

The one liners were awesome! The chuck norris appearance, just put it over the top! They don't try to make this movie anything it's not. It's a pure unadulterated action movie with a heavy dose of gun porn mixed in. the plot is simple, why? Because it leaves more room for blowing shit up not wasting time on explaining things.

Possibly the greatest pure action movie of all time. Nothing else!

Re: Expendables II

Funny thing, I have been wanting less grand scale violence (sick of cities being leveled), and more dialog. Not saying I want chick flicks, but some sarcasm/banter would be nice.

So when I told my friends I wanted to see this movie they were shocked and asked me why. I told them that it looked like a movie that was pure action without taking itself too seriously. And with all the cameos from my early childhood, I figured it had to be a great action film for actions sake that didn't try to be a serious movie.

And it delivered in spades. I really enjoyed it and had a good time. And I LOVED the Smart car scene.

Re: Expendables II

Amazing man movie! Catch phrase galore. Action packed tribute to most of the action hero greats. Not to mention kick ass gun movie. Loved it. Honestly I liked the first one better but the cliche humor alone was worth it for part 2. Someone in hollywood was thinking like me and asked "where did the real action movie go?"

Re: Expendables II

Seriously, if you haven't seen this do so. It was a ton of fun. Great movie. Chuck Norris's entrance was fantastic!

Re: Expendables II

very funny and entertaining.

am I the only one that thought someone was going to pull something during the running and fighting sceens? Most of those guys are soo old. I love them but... Man!!

Re: Expendables II

A lot of fun - for you guys who liked it you should check out Strikeback on Cinemax, weekly series that's not as intentionally cheesy but full of guns, bombs and boobs.

Re: Expendables II

The other half and I watched it this afternoon. Enjoyable flick, funny lines and some good action.

Worth the time.

Re: Expendables II

Chuck Norris was the best part of the whole movie. I'm pissed I wasted so much money seeing this in theater though. Definitely a redbox DVD. Save your money, buy a box of ammo instead.

Re: Expendables II

Who approved all the cliche movie scripts? I guess levity during a fire fight won't make any difference when you're an old school bad ass, so slick not even one round in thousands can hit you

Re: Expendables II

Dolph Lundgren look like a walking dead extra in the 1st movie. He did not age well at all. I'm guessing drugs wreaked havoc on him but i dont remember it coming up in the news as he was not really an A list actor

I think Stallone runs his own show top to bottom. So he can pretty much make anything he wants.

I think I've had more reaction from wind blowing through my hair than Stallone taking 2 hits from rifle fire WTF ROCKY ROCKY!!

Re: Expendables II

Top 5 movie of all time.

Watch the behind the scenes and commentary from the first one, on bluray.

Stallone's aims are Shakespearean, you just have to watch it there is no explaining.

Re: Expendables II

I never realized how bad Chuck Norris is at acting!

Funny as hell when Terry Crews asked who did the shootin though! lol
