Experience with BCM SS410 SAM-R barrels?

Re: Experience with BCM SS410 SAM-R barrels?

well i have the barrel in the link.. and it is a great barrel has lasted quite a few rounds 2000ish rds so far with no issues so far. shoots 1-1.5" groups with milspec 55gr and 62gr ammo have not put any match or handloads thru it as of yet.. as a whole bcm makes quality stuff.. i would put this barrel on par with barrels that i have spent much more on..

liberty, I returned your PM, but think that I misunderstood your question.

I do have a good bit of experience with the 16" version of the SS410 barrel. It's a very good barrel, especially for the price. I know that lots of guys will post with reports of sub MOA groups. Some show three rounds. Some show five. A few will show ten. Check this out....

I shot this group at the end of a range session. The barrel was so hot that I couldn't touch it. That is a 20 shot group shot at 100 yards that was shot as fast as I could get back on target and squeeze the trigger. That's 20 rounds into 1.2" with 15 of those going into .75" using a 10X scope. I really believe that I threw those five out. I don't usually shoot 20 round groups with the AR. I usually go five to ten. When using a higher power scope (I'm not good enough to be super consistent with a lower power scope) the barrel will shoot very sub MOA with good ammunition and it will do it consistently.

If you hear anyone knocking the "5.56 Match" chamber, don't listen to them. The guys at BCM got this one right. I just did a build using a barrel from Superior Barrels and am still working with it to try to get it to shoot as well as the BCM barrel did.

Oh, that was a 1" dot on a half inch grid.

I can tell you this much, they are not made by Sabre Defence or Green Mountain even though both make a 410SS barrel, Not made by Wilson Arms either. BCMs 410ss barrels are lapped and in my opinion are better than any other production grade barrel on the market. We are considering having some made by the same company for a better grade rifle.
