Have a chance to buy a 2nd die set for .308. Loading for two different guns-don't wanna keep changing setups between guns. My options are Hornady vs RCBS.
A second die set is a good idea, if cash is not an issue. If one of your choices has a straight line seater, thats the one I would pick. If not, they all will serve you well. Lightman
I've bought 2 sets, for my 308, and my 300 Win Mag. I stuck a case and lost a day, cause I didn't have a back up. Setting up for the 223, and will have 2 sets.As mentioned, before: Ford or chevy? I use RCBS.
Ok, after a few conversations, I'm learning that I need to look for a neck sizing die. I'm thinking Redding? I wanna try to be very accurate, without being overly finicky, but close to it. Hope I'm making sense.
A Lee collet neck sizer works great and not much money. I have a couple of those, as well as a Redding Type S bushing neck sizer. All the ammo seems to shoot the same regardless of what brand of die was used to assemble it. The Redding and Forster dies do seem to have a nicer "feel" or fit and finish, but whether or not they're worth more is totally up to the end user.
