Extra Gas Port Hole In BAR Barrel

My BAR Safari in 270 Win with a BOSS has 2 holes for gas port.
I'm @ Browning repair shop and they said they would never let one leave the factory like that. I am the only owner. Only just had it to my gunsmith once for cycling issues and found bolt had broke & replaced it. Fired one time & jammed. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Check with Midwest Gun Works (MGW) in Missouri (S of St Louis). They have been an "Authorized Browning Warranty Center" for a long time. They do old Browning restorations, so you might give them a call. I've only purchased old A5 parts, but they were great to deal with.
