There is an older Ford F-350 for sale near me with a blown V-10 for silly cheap, on top of that my company just parked a 2007 Ram 2500 that is worn out but the 6 speed manual and Cummins are in good shape. Has anyone here done the conversion and how much did it cost? I have seen estimates in the $10k range (price includes engine) but don’t know if this is realistic?

If you plan to do the work yourself I think that might even be a bit high. I know there are a lot of companies that make wiring harnesses and different adaptors to make Cummins work in different vehicles. One of the major concerns is weight, length, and width. I subscribe to Diesel Power magizene and there’s a lot of good info there also.

Sounds like a plan , but do seek advice from those who have done it first . Sometimes conversions
if they are not commonly done , can eat up a lot of time and $$ in the details . Brackets , hoses ,
additional fabrication , lines , exhaust systems etc etc , can really eat up time and money .

This is exactly why I wanted to see if anyone here had actually done one, there seems to be good info on https://www.dieselconversion.com/ but I don’t always trust the people that want to sell me something to give me good info on whether or not it should be done.

its easy, everything fit in well, if you dont care to fab any parts, they are all available, affordable.
i sent some pics over to 1j to post up for me, if he so kindly will.

Here ya go buddy ;)

I've never found the Alison to be anything special. The big ones in dumptrucks and stuff are tough but the little ones are just as weak as everyone else's they put in the pickups
