Gunsmithing F Class Rifle

I recently retired , have reloaded and shot at local gun clubs (I have several Winchester Model 70 pre 64's , that I purchased new). I have been reading several forums and I am considering having a dedicated rifle built for 1000 yard target shooting.
I would appreciate your input on caliber , barrel manufacturer and type and action.

Do you intend on shooting F-TR or F-Open?

Open , but first my friend has a 700 yard 'range' (a good shooting bench and clear fiels out to 700 yds) and I want to see what I can do at that distance. Then I will look at a range and shooting club, about 90 minutes away, to see what I should try.

Short action, Single shot, straight 1.350" or 1.25" barrel blank as long as you dare, and .284" or 30cal deepending on much wind you think you'll need to buck.

7mm 180 Berger Hybrids and .308" 230gr Bergers are popular since they have such a high BC. 7mm will be slightly cheaper just based on material costs. Neither have much kick in a 10kg gun.

7WSM's popular in F-class but pretty much any magnum will get the heavies down range fast. The Short Mags allow the shorter/lighter receiver. So the weight-savings can go towards longer barrels and higher velocities. A long straight no-taper bbl allow a few opportunities for setbacks and re-throating.

Hard to go wrong with any of the barrel makers. Hart, krieger, obermeyer, bartlein, douglas, rock creek, brux, lilja, whatever. Theoretically, the cut-rifled barrels may last longer on the heavy magnum cartridges than the button-rifled ones.
