Hey guys,

So I got an F1 Chrony a while ago, it was my first chronograph and I think it's been working well. Is this a good Chrony btw? I didn't do any research before buying it like I should have. I just "heard" it was fine.

Anyways, I lost some of the pieces for the light diffuser. No I didn't shoot em' off, I just lost them like a moron. I can't seem to find a place that sells them. Their main website seems to only refer me to distributors, and I checked several, none of whom have the parts I need. Where the heck can I get a diffuser?

Did you try calling them? They were pretty helpful when I had to send mine in for a repair a few years ago.

I have a Shooting Chrony, a Pro Digital Chrono, a Magnetospeed V3, and a Labradar. I rate them in that same order, low-to-high. It seems to work OK when everything is "just right", but, the Shooting Chrony is quite picky about lighting angle and intensity. It will give you screwy readings and you won't know if it's lighting or the load. The Pro Chrono is much more consistent and repeatable. I compared it simultaneously to the Magnetospeed and it was dead-on, also works well in any reasonable lighting condition. The problem with both the Shooting Chrony and the Pro Chrono is the set-up time. For my 338s, they need to be 15 ft. out. The time to do a good, accurate set-up is at least 20 min. for me, and you can't switch targets. Also, you aren't getting true MV, but velocity at 15 ft (and there is a difference). But, for the money, the Pro Chrono will get you accurate results at least, despite the trouble to set up.

I just went to their site. You can order the parts direct from them. They have them listed here (on the Home page, left column, select Products, and drop down box at the bottom has Replacement Parts):

http://www.shootingchrony.com/products_replacement.htm

You cannot order directly from their site. If you go back to the Home page, select Order, then drop down box offers either Mail Order or Order Direct at the bottom. If you click on Order Direct it gives their phone number and an instruction to call if you want to order direct. Easy enough,
