I took delivery of a Shilen "standard" trigger today and am somewhat disappointed it's shape. It's narrow and non-serrated which is a stark contrast to the factory Remington trigger, which is wider and serrated, that I was replacing. I recently received my rifle from GAP - an M700 w/factory late-model trigger (not X-Mark Pro) - and dislike the side-to-side movement in the trigger. I didn't have GAP mess with the trigger to save a little scratch figuring I'd change it out. Now, I wish I'd done something else. The pics I've seen of Jewel triggers look about the same as the Shilen although I've never seen one in person.
I'm wanting a clean 3 pound break - nothing special. I've always just set the factory M700 triggers, but they've all been older models. The newer ones just aren't what they used to be.
Is there a way to remove the side-to-side wobble in my factory Remington trigger? (Wobble's in the trigger bow - not the entire assembly) I have a May '70 M700 in .25-06 that I'm seriously considering robbing the trigger off of for my M40, but I sort of hate to. Older Remmy triggers that lock the bolt on safe are pretty hard to come by.
