Anyone know where to find factory subsonic .45-70? I picked this thing up in a package deal but don't reaload. I don't know why he didn't just use a .44 magnum instead.

Can .45-70 whisper be fired in a standard .45-70 chamber?

    Thanks

There's a few companies that load "cowboy action" rounds in 45-70 that are subsonic, but I believe they're all lead which could be an issue if that suppressor isn't serviceable. They're also not super cheap at $1.50-$2.00/round.

Possibly master of the obvious here, but... the 45-70 Whisper is a 45-70 Gov case with the straight wall neck cut back. I don't own one and don't have the dimensions, but have seen one and it's noticeably shorter than the parent case. I wouldn't think the jump to the lands would be good for accuracy or the 45/70, but have been proven wrong many times before. I'd reach out to SSK Industries/JD Jones. They developed the Whisper family of cartridges and have proven to be very helpful to me before.
