Failure to feed

My Les Baer .264 has recently developed a failure to feed problem. The round on the right side of the magazine will not feed. Any round on the left side feeds and ejects just fine, but the one on the right gets caught on the ramp. It happens with any magazine I use (disassembled and cleaned them), and I gave the rifle itself a good cleaning as well. It only has abou 800 rds down the pipe.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: Failure to feed

I removed and disassembled the bolt carrier group and inspected it when I cleaned it. Nothing wrong to my eye.

Re: Failure to feed

The barrel extension is the most likely culprit. I would take a careful look at the right side feed ramp in the barrel extension and make sure that your barrel extension and upper receiver are not mismatched (rifle/carbine or carbine/rifle).

Re: Failure to feed

I started picking at one of the lugs on the bolt, and it was loose. With very little persuading, the lug broke off. I contacted Les Baer, and they're sending me a new bolt. LCJones had it right.

Thanks!
