to anyone who wants to buy larue stuff and thinks they are going to save money when they find a used or almost new part online somewhere or at a gunshow, beware. i recently bought a black FUG grip from a guy who was selling lots of them. He bought them at a gun show in illinois. Anyways the point is Larue is having a major issue with this. If you come across anything fake please contact them and send pics and the item if it was cheap enough that you dont care and it will help them build their case against the People who are doing this. I wont mention who but I'm sure you know which group and which country counterfeits all the great American products cause they cant think of anything genius on their own. I dont know if this Post is a topic I shouldnt have posted so forgive me if it is. but I just wanted to make others aware of what has been going on before it touches you.
if you feel the way i do about Larue then you know what I mean.

prolly the regular chinese rip off airsoft crap... I think its kinda a nice accolade to have people poorly rip off your designs. It sucks when a buyer thinks its legit, but i think the real industry fans dont purchase that stuff, its crap plain and simple.

Re: Fake Larue FUG grips! watch out& other fakes 2

yes its the chinese in fact the luke at larue told me that at the last shot show they had a booth downstairs selling larue fakes and the larue family could not do anything about it due to the fact they were made out of country.. apparently this is some legal battle going on so to help their case please send them and tell them about fakes being sold in your area. I know this is old news but this company supports a lot of soldiers and is good to us shooters and to top it off they are made in the USA. need I say more?

Seen this at the last Portland, OR gunshow.

Guy selling fakes of several things, some of them it was VERY hard to tell the difference. And others my eye could not tell.

The fakes are getting better, it is getting trickier to not get ripped off.

The only saving grace of this particular vendor is he was selling the items as knock-offs and for a reduced rate. His honesty was great, what I worry about is the people buying from him that then resale as real.

If the copyist isn't copying a trademark or a patented design, there's likely no recourse for the original producer whether made in the US or elsewhere. If the foreign made object infringes a US trademark or patent, it can be confiscated by customs or other law enforcement.

Chinese manufacturers were well known to sign a production contract and make say 50,000 items ordered by a US company, then use the same molds, tooling, etc to make another 50,000 for themselves to sell, with or without the original US company's logo. This practice is changing, but slowly, and I don't think you'll avoid flat-out copying of a design that isn't protected in some way in my lifetime.

Sale of counterfeit goods is definitely illegal in the USA. The USA and many other countries are part of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.

If you make a grip that looks and feels exactly like a Larue and put it in a box that says Larue and sell it as a Larue, that's definitely illegal counterfeit goods.

This is why i buy directly from places like LaRue. I simply don't trust these other asshats and am not taking a chance for a $20 savings.

Places like LaRue that make their products in house, in this country will continue to get my business, even if i am paying more than places like Amazon who offer you fake crap for cheap.

That doesn't make any sense. US Customs actively polices counterfeit goods coming into the country. Also SHOT has a policy of dealing with people/companies selling around the show's premises without getting a vendor table (such as a hotel suite).

Re: Fake Larue FUG grips! watch out& other fakes 2

we need to continue to support companies like larue cause they are made in America. Made in America is what is going to turn our economy around. and thats all Im going to say with that thought. I had more to say but it was going in the political direction. I guess I gotta shut it and quit while Im ahead.

All of my La Rue products, except one upper came directly form them. Have seen tons of the counterfeit products on Ebay, none at the gun shows though.

True, it's illegal because the counterfeit says Larue, the box says Larue, and Larue is a trademarked name in the firearms industry. If it looks and feels exactly like Larue but is not subject to a design patent, has no names or logos, or has some other name or logo not likely to confuse a consumer into confusing it with Larue, it's also likely legal.
