Rifle Scopes Falcon Menace vs Vortex Viper?

Are these scopes comparable in quality? I see posts where people are looking for a Menace and can't find them. I found a used one but it's about the same price as a new Viper
Is one better than the other? I know Vortex cs is good. How is Falcon's?
I decided against the Bushnell 4200 due to the lack of elevation.
Is a used Menace a better option than a new Viper?
I am also thinking of waiting for people to get their PSTs and buying a used scope from one of them. Maybe a used Viper
What do you think?

I have a falcon menace 4-14FFP. I have found it suitable for my needs to this point. Customer service is handled through the dealer you purchase it from, not the manufacturer. Falcon's website has been essentially down for months, and factory contact is unlikely at best.

It tracks well, glass is acceptable, and offers a variable FFP mil/mil scope at an attractive price. That being said its quality and fit/finish cannot be compared to upper tier scopes, but it's not priced like one. The Viper PST is an extremely attractive option, and will likely be my next purchase. You get a wider power band, FFP, MIL/MIL, Illumination, and nearly unparalleled customer service. It really depends on your needs and price range. I would not hesitate to recommend a Falcon as an entry level scope . The SWFA Super Sniper line should be considered as well and are highly regarded.

I won't be getting a PST unless they get a lot of them in stock. I will probably get a Viper. The Falcon just doesn't sound like it's as good of a deal as the Vortex.
Are all of the PSTs on preorder or will some be in stock?

I guarantee that the only way you will get a PST within months of their release is to have placed a preorder a while back. I would honestly say to go with a Vortex of any kind. Dont mess with the falcon. I have the 5.5x25x50 and the eye relief is pretty harsh, and the turrets arent the greatest. For the money, Vortex is nicer. But this is MHO.

i dont think the PST's will be in stock for a while...... preorder is the best bet.

I had a 4-14 Falcon and have a 6.5-20X50 Viper. The Falcon had the edge in features, with a nice Mil reticle, Mil turrets, FFP, etc. I feel the Viper has the edge in quality--better glass, power ring that isn't overly stiff, better tracking and an overall higher "confidence factor."

Jon A petty much summed it up. I have both and the Falcon has a nicer reticle option, but to me the turrets feel mushy. Viper has better glass and seem to be made better all around. I have not box tested either to comment on tracking.
