Quick question please.

On the falcon menace with the ML16 retical, on the lowest setting does the retical stay put? Meaning you can see the hash marks say like a NXS. It don't get very tiny.

I hope I am explaining this correct and you follow me.

Granted I know this is not a NXS or a U.S.Optic, S&B, but some folks dont have the kind of funds to top off every rifle in there safe like they want to, so they have to sacrafice.

Re: Falcon Menace

In my opinion it gets pretty small. You can still see the mil lines but to me it is difficult. In low light it is even harder. I rarely (if ever) shoot with mine set on the lowest power. Usually six is as low as I go. Don't get me wrong, 4x you can still see the crosshair no difficulty there, but if you are using for ranging or hold offs you may find it harder. Hope that helps.

Re: Falcon Menace

I am like you, in the respect that I don't have the budget to put the nicest glass on all of my rifles. I wish I could but it ain't happenin'.

Anyway, for a $400 FFP scope it gets the job done for me. I have the scope sitting on top of a 22-250. I have shot it out to 550 yards with no problems. I have turned both knobs up and down repeatidly and it holds it zero (how do I explain this) good. I might have to adjust .1 or .2 to get it back to my original zero. You could attribute this back to shooter error, or it could just be the scope. I don't know.

Most of the time, I use hold overs, unders...etc. So I don't "play" with the knobs, unless I am banging steel. It is robust enough for what I use it for (mainly shooting steel, paper, prairie dogs, or coyotes). Don't get me wrong I would love to have a NXS, or any other high end optic.

I have a Zeiss Conquest on my 25-06, and let me tell you the Falcon glass is not even in the same category. Again, this is a $400 scope. But, it works for me, and for what I want to use it for. The lines on the turrets do not match up perfectly with verticle line, and the clicks are kind of mushy, but it works.

So bottom line, do I like it: yes. Would I buy another one: probably not. Hell the glass on my fixed 10x Super Sniper is more clear.

I think in the future I am going to save a little longer and buy a little higher end optic.

Would I recommend it: yes. For someone looking to get into FFP scopes I think this is a good starter optic. I ordered mine for RWS Gunsmithing. Hope this helps and clears things up for you.
