First of all, is your TRG-42 an older 1:12" twist or a newer 1:10" twist?
If it's the former, stick with the 250gr Scenars or SMKs.
I like 86-88grs of H-4831sc under my 250s and thru my 1:12" 42.
I also have used H-1000, VV-165 and VV-170. I have some RL-25 to fiddle with and many love this powder under the 300s and 250s.
I don't shoot the 300s, but Retumbo, RL-25, VV N-560, H-1000 and a few others, might be ticket.
