I've googled this question already and have found one inconclusive answer posted by someone else on SH so I figured I'd better just start a new thread.

I bought 308 ammo from Georgia Arms. Some of the ammo had headstamps of LC 08 or LC 07 - clearly, Lake City. But some had headstamps of FC 07. What is FC 07? and more importantly, how should it be processed for reloading? Is it crimped? I also have some American Ballistics brass and it too, has the same headstamp.

Your wise and experienced responses are appreciated.

Re: FC 07 headstamp on 308s

FC = Federal Cartridge or

FC = Departmento de la Industrial Militar, Mexico City, Mexico 1
FC = Federal Cartridge Corp., Anoka, MN 55303 (also produced in Germany and Austria for Federal) 1
FC = Prvi Partizan, Titovo, Uzice 31000, Yugoslavia 1

If it's American military it has a crimp... one exception, match ammo. None of the ammo marked as match has a crimp. Except everything else to have it.

Of the systems I HAVE USED... the RCBS swage die is about the best. You can cut it out faster. But swaging it also will tighten them up when loose.

of course you know that now that you've been kind enough to give me some advice, if i have problems with the swager YOU'RE the guy i'm coming to with procedural questions. hahaha

although swaging does look pretty straight forward.
